Nova Scotia prepares to host Rendez-vous Canada

23rd January 2018

Halifax, Nova Scotia is set to host the next edition of Rendez-vous Canada (RVC); the annual tourism market place, which is held in a different Canadian city each year.  Scheduled to take place 13 – 16 May 2018 the event, which is being led by Destination Canada and Tourism Nova Scotia, will connect UK and other international buyers with Canadian sellers of tourism products.

RVC will be held at the recently opened Halifax Convention Centre. Just a stones’ throw from the city’s fashionable Waterfront Boardwalk and upscale shopping districts, the new centre boasts 50,000 square feet of multi-purpose convention space, 40,000 square feet of intimate meeting space and an impressive ballroom that features floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the city and harbour beyond.

         Halifax

Last year’s edition of RVC was held in Calgary and welcomed approximately 1,840 delegates from 29 markets with more than 29,000 speed-dating style meetings taking place; the most in its 41 year history. Registration for the Halifax event is already exceeding expectations, with UK delegates encouraged to book their flight and accommodation soon to avoid disappointment.

The RVC official website contains event registration information, accommodation recommendations and an Air Canada discount offer for attendees travelling to Halifax during the period. It also features details of Nova Scotia pre and post industry FAM trips, with a view to delegates extending their stay in the province.

Halifax is the provincial capital of Nova Scotia and home to nearly half a million people, steeped in history and culture it is the first port of call for most Brits arriving to the region by air.  With world-class attractions, superb dining and a range of hotels to suit all tastes and budgets, attendees to RVC are encouraged to take time to explore the beautiful and vibrant city.
